These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the rights and obligations of the customer (“Customer”) using the electronic commerce services provided by the Seller through the hetfarkas.com website (“Webshop”). These Terms apply to every transaction and service carried out through the Webshop, regardless of whether it is fulfilled from Hungary or from abroad.
2. General provisions
Any matters not regulated by these Terms, and the interpretation of these Terms, are governed by Hungarian law, in particular Act V of 2013 on the Civil Code, Act CVIII of 2001 on certain aspects of electronic commerce services and information society services, and Government Decree 45/2014 (II. 26.) on the detailed rules of contracts between consumers and businesses.
Purchases in the Webshop are made by placing an order electronically, in the manner described in these Terms.
By finalizing an order, the Customer confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
3. Nature of the products
The products offered in the Webshop are handmade wooden toys and decorative items. Products are individually handcrafted; therefore, minor variation from the product photos (due to the natural grain and shade of the wood) may occur. This does not constitute defective performance.
Some products are ready-made items in stock (clearly marked as such on the product page), while others are made exclusively to order, individually crafted after the Customer places an order.
4. Ordering process
The Customer selects the desired product(s) in the Webshop, adds them to the cart, and before finalizing the order, provides shipping and billing details.
Placing an order involves a payment obligation. Before submitting the order, the Customer has the opportunity to review and correct the entered data.
The Seller confirms receipt of the order electronically (by email). If no confirmation is received within 48 hours of sending the order, the Customer is released from any obligation to be bound by the offer.
5. Prices and payment terms
Prices displayed in the Webshop are in Hungarian Forints (HUF) and include any statutory VAT (the Seller, as a flat-rate small business taxpayer, may be exempt from VAT under the applicable Hungarian regulations from time to time in force).
For Customers outside Hungary, prices are also displayed for reference in US Dollars (USD). The USD price is for informational purposes only, based on the current exchange rate, and does not constitute a binding offer. The actual amount payable is always determined by the exchange rate applicable at the time of payment.
Payment method: The Webshop accepts advance payment by bank transfer only. Upon confirming the order, the Seller sends the bank details required for payment. Production of the item begins after the purchase price has been received.
The Seller does not accept credit/debit card payment, cash on delivery, or other online payment methods.
6. Delivery time and method
Ready-made (in-stock) products: shipped within 3-5 business days of receiving payment.
Made-to-order products: production time is typically 3-6 weeks, depending on the current order volume. The Seller informs the Customer of the expected completion time in the confirmation email.
Shipping methods:
- Domestic (Hungary): Foxpost parcel locker or Magyar Posta (Hungarian Post)
- International: Magyar Posta international mail or FedEx
The exact shipping cost is displayed in the cart before the order is finalized, based on the shipping address and chosen method.
For shipments outside the European Union (including to the United States), any customs clearance fees, import VAT, or other charges levied under the laws of the destination country are the responsibility of the Customer; the Seller accepts no liability for these.
7. Right of withdrawal and cancellation
7.1 Ready-made (in-stock) products
Under Government Decree 45/2014 (II. 26.), a Customer who qualifies as a consumer has the right to withdraw from the purchase without justification within 14 days of receiving the product. If this right is exercised, the Customer must return the product at their own expense, and the Seller will refund the full amount paid by the Customer (excluding the shipping cost) within 14 days of receiving the returned product (or proof of return).
7.2 Made-to-order products
Under Section 29(1)(c) of Government Decree 45/2014 (II. 26.), the consumer’s right of withdrawal does not apply to products that are not prefabricated but are produced based on the consumer’s instructions or at their express request, and which are clearly personalized for the consumer.
As the made-to-order products offered in the Webshop fall into this category, the right of withdrawal does not apply to them. The Seller clearly informs the Customer of this on the product page and before the order is finalized.
The Seller notes that before production begins (i.e. before payment is received), the Customer may cancel their order at any time, without justification.
8. Warranty
The Seller is subject to statutory warranty obligations under the Hungarian Civil Code. In the event of defective performance, the Customer may primarily request repair or replacement; if these are impossible or would involve disproportionate additional cost, the Customer may request a price reduction, repair the defect themselves at the Seller’s expense, or withdraw from the contract.
The time limit for asserting a statutory warranty claim is 1 year from the date the product was received, given that the Customer qualifies as a consumer under the Civil Code.
As the products are made from natural material (wood), minor variations arising from the nature of the material (e.g. grain, shade) that do not affect the intended use of the product do not constitute a defect.
9. Complaint handling and remedies

The Seller will respond to complaints received in writing within 30 days, in accordance with Act CLV of 1997 on Consumer Protection.
If the complaint is not resolved satisfactorily, the Customer may turn to the following forums:
Competent conciliation body: Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County Conciliation Board (as of 1 January 2024, this board also has jurisdiction over Heves County matters)

For Customers outside the European Union (e.g. in the United States), the option of proceeding before the above Hungarian conciliation body is also available, as the contract is governed by Hungarian law.

10. Miscellaneous provisions
The Seller reserves the right to unilaterally amend these Terms; any amendment takes effect upon publication in the Webshop. Amendments do not apply to orders already placed and confirmed.
For matters not regulated by these Terms, Hungarian law shall apply, in particular the Civil Code and applicable consumer protection legislation. Any dispute between the Seller and the Customer falls under the jurisdiction of the Hungarian courts.
